Caleb Engstrom is a Los Angeles based artist rooted in the fields of sculpture, film/video, and sound. The direction of his practice has developed into a series of inquires into masculinity and fatherhood as these themes directly intersect with cinematic touchstones and archetypes of Greek Mythology. He has exhibited at ZieherSmith (NYC), DiverseWorks (Houston, TX), Faulconer Gallery (Grinnell College), St. Cecilia (Brooklyn, NY) and was a finalist for the Lori Ledis Emerging Curator Program - BRIC (2011, Brooklyn, NY). Currently he is preparing for Event Horizon, a summer 2019 residency in Crete, Greece. Caleb has a degree in studio art from The University of Iowa (2007) and will graduate with an MFA from the University of California, Irvine in spring of 2020.
